Empowering the Visually Impaired Through Literacy, Skills & Culture
ZLCSCVI is Zambia’s dedicated library, cultural and skills centre for the visually impaired, established through a generous donation from the Finnish Federation of the Visually Impaired and supported by the Government of Zambia. For over three decades, we have been building independence and dignity for persons with visual impairment through Braille literacy, vocational training, broadcasting and community outreach.

Who We Are
Three Decades of Building Independence
Since 1993, the Zambia Library, Cultural and Skills Center for the Visually Impaired has stood as Zambia’s foremost institution dedicated to the literacy, cultural enrichment and vocational advancement of persons who are blind or visually impaired. Established through a generous donation from the Finnish Federation of the Visually Impaired, ZLCSCVI was founded in collaboration with the Government of Zambia to serve as a beacon of opportunity and inclusion.
Through our library and transcription services, radio station, rehabilitation programmes and skills workshops, we equip individuals with the tools to live independently and contribute meaningfully to society. Guided by an independent Board of Trustees and led by our Executive Director, Fredrick Chibale Lungu, our eight departments work in concert to deliver holistic support across six compounds in Lusaka and beyond.
